Issos (BC 385-375) Stater

ca 385-375 BC. AR Stater (26mm, 10.28g, 12h). Head of Athena facing slightly left, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet / Head of young Herakles(?) left. Good VF, lightly toned, struck with worn obverse die, two flan cracks, overstruck on uncertain undertype. Extremely rare issue, only 4 recorded by Brindley, 2 of which are in a public collection (ANS). Krizan Coll.; ex Herman Coll. (Triton X, 1/2007, lot 374); Triton VIII (1/2005), lot 504.
