Aigai (BC 160-150) Tetradrachm

ca 151-­143 BC. AR Tetradrachm (32mm, 17.50g, 12h). Stephanophoric type. Wreathed head of Apollo Smintheos right, bow and quiver over shoulder / Zeus standing left, holding eagle and scepter; monogram to left; all within oak wreath. Good VF, attractive cabinet tone, minor die wear. Very rare. Ex New York Sale IX (1/2005), lot 95.
