Kyzikos (BC 430-370) EL Stater

5th-­4th century BC. EL Stater (15.87g). Lapith kneeling on back of fallen centaur right; strangling him with left arm and holding sword in right hand, while the centaur seizes the Lapith’s head with his left hand and punches him at side with his right; below, tunny right / Quadripartite incuse square. Exceedingly rare, only few specimens known. Struck on a full flan and about extremely fine.
