Kyzikos (BC 550-500) EL 1/6 Stater

ca 500-450. EL Hekte - 1/6 Stater. Facing head of Silenos with goat's ears and long beard; tunny fish swimming upwards to left and right / Quadripartite incuse square. Very rare. EF. Ex Muenzen und Medaillen 44 (6/1971), lot 12.

The head of Silenos on this coin very possibly served as the model for a silver issue of the slightly later Lykian dynast Teththiveibi, as BMC 88 and SNG Berry 1164.
