Septimius Severus, 193-211 AD. AE35 (25.25g, 6h). T. Fl. Hierax, strategos. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right; countermark: facing cult statue of Artemis Anaïtis / ЄΠ[I CT]P Φ-Λ ΛЄV IЄPAKOC, emperor on horseback right, about to spear bound captive; shield below, YΠAIΠH/NΩN in exergue. VF, green patina, smoothing in fields. Possibly unpublished, but see SNG von Aulock 2969 for the same type/magistrate on a coin of Caracalla.
