C. Claudius Ap.f. Pulcher. Proconsul, 55-53 BC. AR Tetradrachm (11.38g, 26mm, 12h). Cistophoric standard. Sopatros, magistrate. Dated CY 80 (55/4 BC). Cista mystica within ivy wreath / Bow case between two serpents; [C] PVLCHRI AP [F]/PRO COS in two lines above; to left, Π (date), EΦE, and figure of Nemesis advancing left; torch to right, ΣΩΠATPOΣ below. VF, toned, scrape on obverse. Very rare.
