Prusias ad Hypium (AD 253-260) AE 24 – Valerian I

Valerian I, 253-260 AD. AE24 - Tetrassarion (6.44g, 7h). ΠOYB ΛIKIN BAΛEPIANOC AY (sic!), radiate and cuirassed bust left, holding shield; on back of the head, countermark of H within round incuse (revalued as an Octassarion) / ΠPOYCIEΩN ΠPOC YΠIΩ[N], draped and cuirassed bust of the eponymous hero Prusias to right. Rare. Flan crack from countermarking, otherwise VF. Ktistes Coll.
