Ancient Greek and Roman coins from Asia Minor

Coin ID #8487

Uncertain (BC 350-300) Drachm - Memnon

ca 350-300 BC. AR Drachm (3.19g). Head of Helios with nimbus left / Rosebud, M-E. EF. Rare. Ex Bankhaus Aufhäuser 11 (München, 1995), lot 111.

Since variants with EY and NI exist (instead of ME), Ashton suggests a localization in the vicinity of the Dardanelles and links this issue to the two Rhodian brothers Memnon and Mentor.
