Maximinus I, 235-238 AD. AE30 (16.81g, 1h). • IMP • CAE • C IVL • VER MAXIMINO Λ-VG, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / MARON • COL • CRE, Marsyas standing facing, head left, raising right hand and holding wine skin over left shoulder. Good VF, green patina. Only three cited by von Aulock, all in museum collections (ANS, Boston MFA, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin). From Group CEM. Ex Sternberg XI (11/1981), lot 340.
