Ephesos (BC 404-394) Tridrachm

ca 404-394 BC. AR Tridrachm (11.20g). The infant Herakles, naked, kneeling to right on ground line, strangling a serpent in each hand, Σ-Y-N / Bee with curved wings, E-Φ / Π-E. Very fine and very rare. From the Hecatomnus Hoard; ex Frank Sternberg, Auction XIII, Zurich (11/1983), lot 175; purchased from B.A. Seaby Ltd., London (4/1984) US$ 8,000.
