Severus Alexander, 222-235 AD. AE36 - Medallion (20.13g, 6h). Aur. Tychicus, grammateus. AYT K M • AYP CEY H • AΛEΞANΔPOC, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / MAΓNH T ΩN EΠ I ΓP AVP • TVΞIK/OV •, Zeus Nikephorus seated left on stool. Good VF, black-green patina with dusty earthen overtones. Extremely rare, only the third example of this type known.

Apart from the Paris specimen published by Mionnet, the only other published example of the type, though with a different placement of the reverse legend, appeared in the Weber Coll. (J. Hirsch XXIV, 5/1909), lot 2880, with the reverse illustrated on pl. XXXIX of the catalog.
