Maximus Caesar, 235-238 AD. AE (9.65g). Γ. IOV. OVH. - MAXIMOC K. Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right / ЄΠI ΓP AVP AKTIA - KOVP MAGNH./TΩN. Apollo, nude, standing facing, head turned left, left ellbow resting on tripod, holding laurel branch in his lowered right hand; serpent coiled round legs of tripod. Rare. Dark green patina. Slightly rough surfaces. Good very fine. Ex Münzen und Medaillen, Basel 41 (1970), 385.
