Laodikeia (AD 244-247) AE 27 - Philip II

Philip II, as Caesar, 244-247 AD. AE27 (8.20g, 6h). Bareheaded, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Wolf (λÏκος) and mule (κάπÏος) seated facing each other. VF, brown patina. Rare variety; the wolf and boar are normally seated back to back, with heads turned to face each other.
The reverse alludes to the chief rivers in the vicinity of Laodicea, the Lycos and Kapros.
