Karia Uncertain (BC 450-400) bull - Hemiobol

ca 500-470 BC. AR Tetartemorion (7mm, 0.28g, 11h). Head of roaring lion right / Confronted bullâ€™s heads. Unpublished in the standard references. gVF.

An interesting coin. The lion appears Carian in style, and the confronted bullâ€™s heads oddly resemble the facing â€œhornedâ€ lion heads of some types typically given to Hekatomnos (compare SNG Keckman 843).
