Severus Alexander, 222-235 AD. AE25 (9.18g). M AVP CEVH - AΛEΞANΔPOC, draped, cuirassed and laureate bust right / NI-[K]-AIEΩ-N, Dionysos sitting right, draped with ivy wreath, holding thyrsos, head turned left to a female figure (nymph Nikaia), standing frontal, head right, wearing chignon, holding wreath in right hand. Very rare, about VF. Hoeft coll.

The Phrygian nymph Nikaia was raped by Dionysos, who was ktistes of the city of Nikaia.
