(BC 450-420) Teththiveibi - Stater

Teththiveibi, Dynast, ca 440-430 BC. AR Stater (9.84g, 12h). Head of a goddess (Aphrodite?) to left, wearing pearl necklace and spiral earring, hair in a queue tied with bands and bound up in back / Tetraskeles; Lycian letters 'tetthiweibi', within dotted incuse square. Very rare. Beautifully toned, a superb example, perhaps the finest known. Good EF. Ex Bank Leu Auc. 81 (5/2001), 310 and Auc. 7 (5/1973), 251, and Desneux coll.
