Skepsis (BC 440-400) Drachm

ca 450-400 BC. AR Drachm (3.81g, 5h). Forepart of Pegasos right, Σ-ΚΗ-ΨΙ-ΟΝ around / Fir tree between two bunches of grapes; all within linear and dotted border within shallow incuse square. Rare. Nicely toned. Good very fine. From the collection of H.S. von Aulock, ex Hess-Leu (4/1957), 262, and from the collections of R. Jameson and Sir H. Weber, bought from W.T. Ready in 1886.
