Coin ID #11423

Augusta (AD 251-253) AE 31 - Trebonianus Gallus

Trebonianus Gallus, 251-253 AD. AE31 (21.43g, 6h). Dated CY 233 (252/3 AD). Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Tyche seated left on rocks, presenting grain ears to female (Livia?) standing right; at Tyche’s feet, river-god Saros swimming left; ЄT ΓΛC (date) in legend. Near VF, green patina, roughness and pitting. Rare. Ex Krizan Coll.

Levante notes that the hairstyle of the female suggests that it is Livia, the wife of Augustus, in whose honor the city was named.
