Klazomenai (BC 386-301) Drachm

ca 360 BC. AR Drachm (4.05g). Laureate head of Apollo facing three­quarters left, wearing chlamys secured by round brooch / AΠ-OΛΛA-Σ, swan standing left, open wings; below, KΛ. An apparently unique variety (the only specimen known with this magistrate) of an extremely rare type. Undoubtedly the finest specimen known of this issue bearing one of the finest facing portraits of the Greek coinage. Of extraordinary late Classical style and with old cabinet tone.
