Saitta (AD 200-300) AE 17

Quasi-autonomous, early 3rd century AD. AE17 (2.12g). [Π]OΛ - IC, draped bust of City-Goddess (Tyche) right, wearing tripartite mural crown / CAITTH - NΩN, nude Herakles standing right, holding lion's-skin over left arm and resting with right hand on club. Very rare, F+, sand-patina. Hoeft coll.

The female figure on the obv. could well be the personification of the Polis.
