Septimius Severus, 193-211 AD. AE37 (26.05g). ΑΥ ΚΑΙ ΛΟΥ ΧΕΠ CΕVΗΡΟC ΠΕΡ, laureate, draped, cuirassed bust right / ΕΠΙ ΑΡΧ ΓΥΘΙΚΟ-Υ Δ ΑΤΤΟΥΔΕΩΝ, Cybele standing facing in long chiton long, kalathos on head, spreading her hands above the heads of two lions seated facing to left and right; star and crescent in upper fields. Unique. Beautiful style, excellent, deep olive-brown patina and in exceptional condition. Bank Leu Auc. 48 (Zurich, 1989), 368 (this coin), otherwise unpublished.
