Sinope (BC 333-322) Drachm - Ariarathes I

Ariarathes I of Cappadocia, 333­-322 BC. AR Drachm (17.5mm, 5.40g, 8h). Sinope mint. Head of nymph left, hair in sakkos, wearing triple­pendant earring and necklace; aplustre to left, M’ (in Aramaic) to right / Sea­eagle standing left, wings spread, on dolphin left; ARYDRT (in Aramaic) below. Good VF, toned, obverse a little off center. Very rare, Simonetta notes six examples. Ex Roma 7 (3/2014), lot 743.
