As the cut goes through the portrait of Caracalla, this mark is quite probably an example of damnatio memoriae.

Aurelius Damas was not only Strategos, but also Asiarch. The reverse shows that in Pergamon, as in 37 other mints, there were Olympic or Isolympic games organized by the city, that were related by regulations and prices to win to the Olympic games.
