Sinope (BC 365-350) Drachm - Abrocromas

ca 365-333 BC, in name of Satrap Abrocromas. AR Drachm (5.52g). Head of nymph Sinope left, hair in sphendone, aplustre in front / Sea-eagle attacking dolphin left, Aramaic legend ('Abrkkn') below. Deep cut, toned very fine.

According to Xenophon, Abrocromas was a general for Artaxerxes II at the time of Cyrus' revolt, but arrived at the battle of Cunaxa (401 BC) with 300,000 men five days late.
