Ancient Greek and Roman coins from Asia Minor

Coin ID #11511

Apollonia Mordiaion (AD 69-79) AE 24 - Vespasian

Vespasian, 69-79 AD. AE24 (8.84g, 6h). AVTOKPATOPI KAICAP C[...]VECΠACIAN, laureate head right / ΛΠΟΛΛωNIATω-N ΛYKIωN, Zeus seated left, holding patera and scepter. Good Fine, dark brown patina, faint adjustment marks. Extremely rare - perhaps the second known of this type and the third known Flavian coin from Apollonia. Ex Sneh Coll.

Only one example of this type is recorded by von Aulock and RPC - for Titus. That coin may be from the same obverse die as the current lot, although the von Aulock/RPC specimen is in such poor condition it is difficult to verify.
