Rhodes (BC 404-375) Tetradrachm

ca 404-375 BC. AR Tetradrachm (15.06g). Head of Helios, framed by flowing hair, facing, slightly right / [Ρ]ΟΔ−ΙΟΝ, large rose with bud to left; small F and ivy leaf to right; within incuse. Lightly toned EF, well centered and in high relief, very minor roughness on chin which does not in any way detract form the overall beauty of the coin. The die-engraver's masterwork, and a beautiful example of Classical Greek art.
