Salamis (BC 411-373) Stater/Double Siglos - Evagoras I

Evagoras I, King of Salamis, 411-374/3 BC. AR Stater or Double Siglos (11.10g, 8h). Head of bearded Herakles wearing lion skin headdress right; Cypriot letters, 'Eu fa go ro' to right (mostly off the flan) / 'Ba si le fo se eu' (in combined Cypriot and Greek letters), goat seated right on dotted ground line; barley grain above; kerykeion (caduceus) to right. Very rare. Struck on an irregular flan from a rusty obverse die, otherwise, good extremely fine. Ex Monnaies et Medailles 68 (4/1986), 308.
