Commodus, Caesar, 166-177 AD. AE35 (27.95g). ΑΥ Κ ΑΙΛ ΑΥΡΗ - ΚΟΜΟΔΟΣ ΓΕΡ, draped and laureate bust right / ΕΠΙ ΑΡΧ ΑΙΛ ZΩΙΛΟΥ, Alexander the Great, backed by more soldiers on two galleys, giving orders to attack; on the background turret with trumpeter giving the signal on long salpinx. Second known example. Red brown patina, minor smoothing, gVF.
