Quasi-autonomous, 2nd-3rd cent AD. AE29 (8.30g). KYZ - IKOC, head of hero Kyzikos, diademed with taenia, right / CTP A / [VP AP]IC / TE[I]Î”OV / KVZIKH / NÎ©N, in laurel-wreath. Very rare. VF/about VF, dark green patina. Hoeft coll.

In MÃ¼nsterberg, Die Beamtennamen auf griechischen MÃ¼nzen, a strategos is mentioned under Severus Alexander named Avr. Aristaidos. Perhaps he is the same as named in the legend. Kyzikos was the king of the Doliones in Mysia.
