Chios (BC 412-334) Tetradrachm

ca 412-350 BC. AR Tetradrachm (14.90g). Sokrates, magistrate. Sphinx seated left, amphora surmounted by grape-bunch to left / Quadripartite incuse square, ΣΩΚΡΑΤΗΣ across horizontal band; vertical striations within each quarter. Light old scratch at reverse edge, toned, VF. Rare. Apparently unpublished magistrate.
