Kyzikos (BC 430-370) EL 1/6 Stater

5th-4th century BC. EL Hekte (2.5g, 11mm). Head of youth left; [below, tunny left] / Quadripartite incuse square. Banker mark on obverse (behind neck), gVF. Rare denomination for issue.

While the staters of this issue are relatively common, the sixth staters are particularly rare. Weber notes that at the time of its publication, the only other example known was in the Bibliothèque Nationale. This may have been in error as a sixth stater is not present in SNG France.
