Pergamon (AD 238-244) AE 43 – Gordian III

Gordian III, 238-244 AD. AE43 (44.19g). Homonoia with Nikomedeia. ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΝΤ ΓΟΡΔΙΑΝΟC, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right / ЄΠΙ C ΙΟΥΛ ΛΟΓΙC/ΜΟΥ ΠЄΡΓΑΜΗΝΩΝ ΚΑΙ ΝЄΙΚΟΜΗΔЄΩΝ ΟΜΟΝ/ΟΙΑ, Asklepios and Demeter, holding long torch, poppy flower and prow of ship at her feet. Very rare. Somewhat rough, olive green patina, some scratches on obverse, otherwise almost EF. Ex Nomos 2 (2010), 208.
