Gordian III, 238-244 AD. AE42 - Medallion (44.02g, 12h). Homonoia with Nicomedia. Julius Logismos, strategos. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Asklepios standing right, leaning on serpent-entwined staff, facing Demeter, standing left, holding poppy and torch on deck of quinquereme right with gubernator at stern. Near VF, brown surfaces, porous. Rare. Ex Zaar Maritime Coll.
