Uncertain (BC 440-390) Star - Hemiobol 1

5th century BC. AR Hemiobol (7mm, 0.35g). Helmeted head of Athena right / Star of four rays; pellets between rays; all within beaded square border within incuse square. Near EF, lightly toned, surfaces a bit granular. Rare.

This type is missing from the the major published collections but appears on the market from time to time. Changes in style indicate they must have been struck over a considerable time. This earlier issue appears less frequently than the later style coins.
